Applicants are invited to apply for need-based sponsorship year-round*.  The award will vary depending on need and fund availability. Funds will be paid directly to gym/program and/or IFA monthly; dependent on continued participation in the sport of cheer as an all-star athlete. No funds are submitted directly to cheer athlete/family. 

SHADES Association sponsorship recipients will be selected from applications received, after taking into consideration coach/gym recommendation, financial need, and strength of character. All levels and ages will be considered. In the future, sponsorship by levels may be offered as funding becomes available. 

The sponsorship is available for the current season/fiscal year only. Each recipient will need to re-apply each year to receive sponsorship for following seasons. 

The criteria for need based sponsorship are: 

1. Enrollment at an all-star cheer gym/program in the Houston area

2. Excellent reference from gym/coach that the cheer athlete is currently enrolled at

3. Proof of financial need (partial or full gym sponsorship does not disqualify need) 

4. Positive social media presence (strength of character).  For those that have parent-run social media – those platforms will be considered

5. Nomination/Recommendation from family friend/employer as to why your cheer athlete deserves sponsorship

All recommendations and supporting documentation much be received within 30 days of application.  Please have all supporting documentation sent to sponsorship@shadesassociation.org ~ Reference cheer athlete and membership number (if applicable)
